MYTH: The right-of-way will be an eyesore, destroy sensitive areas of our province and disrupt migration patterns.
FACT: Large diameter pipeline construction right-of-ways are typically 50 metres in width, however, a final decision has not been made as to the required right-of-way for the proposed pipeline. Once the line is in place, the permanent right-of-way will be approx. 32 m, and in certain locations, a right-of-way width as narrow as six metres could be maintained, depending on maintenance and service requirements.
During operations, we will control the growth of vegetation on the right-of-way, using the most environmentally appropriate and economical vegetation management methods. Areas not needed for ongoing operations and maintenance will be allowed to revert to a natural vegetative state, where feasible, or in accordance with landowner agreements.
