MYTH: If your pipeline will be nearby, can you run a natural gas line to my house or business?
FACT: TransCanada owns and operates natural gas transmission lines, not distribution lines, and therefore doesn’t supply local communities directly with natural gas.
The Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project will transport large volumes of natural gas from gas wells in northeastern B.C. to processing plants on the West Coast.
For more information about different types of pipelines, visit the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA).
