In October, TransCanada kicked off a second season of monthly free skating nights at the Ken Trombley Arena in Hazelton, B.C. Twenty-five pairs of donated skates were given away. Some 170 guests enjoyed the skating, free hot chocolate and hot dogs courtesy of TransCanada.
“TransCanada recognizes that local community arenas are a gathering place where residents visit, connect with one another and spend time with family and friends,” said Rebecca McElhoes, Manager, Community Relations Prince Rupert Gas Transmission. “We also recognize that not all community members are in a position to participate in recreational activities with their families so we’ve made the opportunity for folks to come enjoy the activity for free, and have even been able to donate over 25 pairs of skates to happy new owners. We’re proud to invest and participate in these types of community-building activities and have enjoyed participating in these events over the last year.”
