Approximately 150 residents of the Hazelton, B.C., area turned out for the TransCanada-sponsored free skating night at the Ken Trombley arena.
TransCanada sponsored several free Friday night skates throughout the winter. The March 6 event marked the end of the season.
“TransCanada recognizes that local community arenas are a gathering place where residents visit, connect with one another and spend time with family and friends,” said Rebecca McElhoes, Manager, Community Relations Prince Rupert Gas Transmission. “We’re proud to invest and participate in these types of community-building activities and have enjoyed participating in these events over the last year.”
Hot dogs, hot chocolate and prize draws by Mayor Alice Maitland were a hit with families, many of whom were at the rink for the first time.
